Are you using Reading Wonders in your third grade classroom? Check this out! Best practice supports creating your classroom word wall along with your class instead of posting all words prior to the beginning of the school year. I have created a weekly addition to your word wall using the spelling words from your Reading Wonders Series! This is the fifth unit of six. There are 5 weeks in each unit with 15 spelling words. Each color indicates a new week. For example, the first two blue word wall pages are from unit 5.1 in your basal series. I have included 5 additional blank cards for each week. I like to have my students brainstorm five new words (that follow the weekly spelling pattern) together at the carpet. These new words serve as my bonus or challenge words for the spelling test on Friday. I write in the new words on the blank cards and keep the words posted in a pocket chart all week until the test on Friday. After the test, we post the new words on the word wall together. My students help post the words which makes my word wall much more interactive for the students! You may wish to print, cut, and laminate prior to using the words to unsure durability and use year after year. Please see the following weekly spelling patterns below and check out the preview! I will be posting the remaining units in the days to come! Become my newest follower so you are notified when they are posted please! Enjoy!
