Description

The foundation of any instructional framework rests on the way it is introduced to students and the routines and expectations that are formed surrounding this instructional framework from day one. *25 minilessons focused on developing routines and expectations for small group, whole group, and individual instruction within a Reading Workshop format. Each minilesson includes a detailed lesson plan page for teacher use, a presentation to be used while teaching the lesson, and the handouts to supplement the minilesson.

*All of the directions and handouts needed to put together a Reader's Notebook for students to set up now and use throughout the entire school year.

*Information on Interactive Read Alouds, mentor text list, how to conduct an effective reading conference, literature circle lesson framework, guided reading lesson framework, and many more resources to assist you in teaching using Reading Workshop.

*Directions and handouts to put together a teacher reading binder and a teacher guided reading/literature circles binder. These binders will guide your instruction throughout the entire school year in all instructional contexts within Reading Workshop (whole group minilessons, guided reading, literature circles, reading conferences). Also included are assessments to be used when grading participation in guided reading and literature circles, along with a rubric for assessing students' written responses to their reading.

*30 minilesson statements aligned to the Common Core to continue Reading Workshop with after the initial 25 day kick-off and tips on how to keep Reading Workshop going after the implementation phase.
