"Great deal and wonderful to use when teaching students using the Common Core!!"

UPDATE I will also be adding a HOW TO ANNOTATE SHEET and WORKS CITED PAGE to the reading and writing bundle. Just added my WRITING PROMPTS for World History and US History as well as a 2nd version of the read around the sheet. I have also added 4 different versions of the read around the sheet.

These are all the writing and reading activities that I use on a weekly basis. You will get 14 activities in total as a BUNDLE.

1. Bibliography PPT: This will allow the user to walk the students through a short bibliography PPT.

2. DBQ stuff: I have included everything you need to know about writing a DBQ with the PPT/Keynote that goes along with it. This will have the 11 steps to writing a DBQ paragraph and the reflection sheet following the writing of the DBQ to get feedback from the students. I have also included a DBQ reading sheet and paragraph writing sheet that is really useful as it will tell you what to write and when to write it. This is probably the most useful thing I use when writing DBQ's.

3. Close Reading sheet: This will give the students some additional direction while reading in class. It is one page and is a really handy tool.

4. How to Outline: I believe this skill is the one thing that helped get me through college. I feel it is necessary to know how to organize large amounts of information.

5. Mission Statement: How to write your own personal mission statement for your life. This is cool as it starts with a word bank and goes down in 5 easy steps.

6. Chapter Preview: This is a great way to have the students preview the chapter prior to actually studying it. I do this in class the day after the test or on the day of the test for HW.

7. Guest Speaker Questions: This is a set of guest speaker questions that is great to have available for when guest speakers come in. I always keep it handy in case things start to get a little stale.

8. MLA/Memo: This teaches how to write a memo or MLA format. Both formats are necessary for life and I love to give the students the tools to be successful.

9. Read Around Sheet: The read around sheet is a way for students to get in groups of 2 or 3 and read each other's papers. It does not matter if it is a DBQ or a paragraph. Feedback is everything and with 230 students it gets tough. I have made 4 different versions of the sheet, 2 for paragraphs and 2 for DBQ.

10. Paragraph Sheet: Probably my favorite resource that I have used over the years. I love this paragraph sheet because it just makes sense. I love teaching things that make sense to me and this just makes sense. Enjoy!

11. How to write a book review: This allows students to review the books they are reading mostly for EC. The review has the students go through 6 steps to make sure that they can prove that they have read the book.

12. Flipped Classroom guide: This guide is a great way to teach a PPT/ Keynote. It allows the students to dig into the PPT/ Keynote and discuss with a group and meet with the teacher.

13. Works Cited Instructions: This will help with the creating of works cited page. It is 2 pages in length and is a great guide to pass out to students.

14. How to Annotate: This is a 1-page instruction on how to annotate text in class. It goes through 10 steps to make it easy for students. There are lots of ideas just to get kids started on the process.

15. Poem Analysis Sheet: This goes well with any poem and asks the students to read the poem 3 different times. The students will annotate and ask questions and talk about how they feel about things.

16. Personal Account sheet: This is something I created for the WWI and WWII stations sheet. It allows students to be able to create and respond to some generic questions for a personal account of a historical figures life.

17. Marking the Text: This is a great way to have students mark up the text for any primary source document. This is more instructional than anything else.
