This activity includes frames, spinners and response sheets so that students can practice reading and writing decimals… and then rounding to various decimal places.
The set allows for differentiation so that students can review place value by rounding to the nearest whole number, or to the tenths, hundredths or thousandths place. Spinners and numbers are offered in color and in black and white.
A series of “quick checks” or exit slips (with answers) are included so that teachers have evidence as to whether the concept has been mastered. An additional/alternative check asks the student to provide an explanation as to why the answer is correct.
Other than paper clips and pencils, no other materials are needed beyond the pages in this packet. Spinners and numbers are best run off on cardstock. The frames and other pages may be run off on regular paper if you choose. With minimal cutting, this activity is quickly ready to go, and can be used for partner work, in a center or for individual practice.
Appropriate for fourth or fifth grade students or for extra practice/review for sixth grade students.
