How I use the resource in my class.

I start with the whole group and we review the picture. I want to make sure my students have the vocabulary. Together we write the sentence making sure they are using

"5-star writing":

#1 Start with a capital letter.

#2 Use finger spaces.

#3 Write neatly.

#4 Make the sentence match the illustration.

#5 Use a period to end the sentence.

I call students up to the whiteboard to write each of the words, then when our sentence is complete I send them to their tables to work independently. Once they are seated and working I can call my reading groups. The worksheet has plenty of coloring, cutting, and gluing so it gives you time to get to meet with at least 2 groups.
