This activity/mini-lesson will explain the breakdown and different parts of a historical document.
Using the U.S. Constitution as an example, the different parts of the document are labeled and explained.
Included is a graphic organizer to help the students understand the different parts, including the title, date, authors, and preamble. The second page of the graphic organizer is for the headings and sections that may follow. This page may need to copied more than once for one document.
