This pdf can be used to develop and assess map creation and reading skills. Each map includes a key, grid system and landmarks. Acts as a great follow up to a map lesson, pretest or formal assessment.
Students can make / create their own grid map. The first map asks students cut and paste the landmarks in the coordinates they belong to. The second map creation asks students to draw specific landmarks on the grid map, include them in the key, and then answer questions about their map.
There are two map worksheets which ask students to determine which coordinate the landmarks are in. One is in multiple choice format, the other is fill in the blank. There are answer keys for both. These can easily be used to assess the student's ability to read grid maps.
