Reading and Spelling Choice Boards BUNDLE

READING RESPONSE CHOICE BOARDS:

I use these reading choice boards for reading homework. My students are required to write 4 responses each week. I have them use a Reading Response spiral notebook to record their responses but you could use paper!

Students are given a double-sided copy of the board with the fiction board on one side and the non-fiction board on the other side to keep in their journals. There is also an option to print one page with both choice boards.

You could also use the boards in a literacy workstation or during independent reading time. There are so many ways you could use Reading Response Choice Boards!

SPELLING CHOICE BOARDS:

In the classroom, I print a copy of a choice board for each student and use a new board every quarter. I copy the spelling lists on the back of the board but you can have your students write the list in their planner or send a separate copy. I assign 3 activities on Monday with all 3 due by Friday.

I’ve been using Spelling Choice Boards with my students for years now and I’d never assign spelling homework any other way! Giving students a choice in how to do their spelling homework has definitely increased their enthusiasm and participation rate. I change the choice board every 5-6 weeks and rotate through the different boards throughout the year. This way they have time to try a lot of the different activities.
