Did you ever think you could form a sentence in your head, write it out on paper and come up with a formula that would make it in to arithmetic? What exactly would a sentence have to do with math? Shouldn’t that be in the English category of education? Well, not anymore! Reading and Writing Math allows students the opportunity to see and analyze every sentence they read or write using math.
The goal is for you to have your students take a Sentence (or make up their own), add up all the Letters in the sentence and the Words to make a Math Operation which = my Formula. You are encouraged to have your students Code their own sentences.
This will help children stay on “Thought-Guard” and practice their math. The longer the sentence the more challenging the mathematics is for students. Pretty soon your little scholars will be adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing sentences from their favorite books and magazines with Reading and Writing Math. Welcome to the new upsurge of global thinkers.
