This choice board was created so that my students are able to read a story and 1) I pick the box(es) or 2) they choose their box(es) to complete after reading.
(Teacher determines how many boxes to complete)
I also let them work on it collaboratively, where each student will work on a different box then teach the other group members.
Students may work on the same thing all together as well, as some may point out things that others don't see. This also allows for discussions to happen.
On the notes sheet I put smaller version of anchor charts for specific areas on the choice board, where students would ask questions about. Students have everything they need, a frayer model, example of main idea, etc. They own it!
This could be used in addition to assignments or when students are done early.
