Product Description
In this worksheet, students are asked to read through a short informational article, identify the author's point, and then highlight/collect data pertaining to the key point.

Following this, they'll create a data table from the information they collected, using appropriate titles, variables, etc.

To finish up the worksheet, they'll be asked to interpret the data, pull information from it, make comparisons, and answer some questions that require some out-of-the-box thinking and making connections.

I use this in science, but it could be used in other subject areas as well, or even modified slightly, and used in collaboration between LA (reading strategies) and science/math.
