A visual support to help students read carefully and deliberately for meaning. Text and graphics help a student to use reading comprehension strategies throughout the reading activity. Strategies include: using the title and illustrations to extract meaning and make predictions; analyzing sentence by sentence to find key words; and retelling sentences, paragraphs, and whole stories. This process can also be applied to note-taking.
