Welcome to my grading lifesaver! I just peel, stick, grade and go. These are my reading response rubric labels. I print them on address labels (the 30 to a page type either size 8160 or 5160). I needed to come up with a way to easily and quickly grade my students response journals and this is what I designed one day. I have since used this method for many more rubrics. My students create a response entry for most stories that they read which includes the title, author, genre, setting, main characters, theme, and summary from start to finish with problem and solution. I also include grammar/spelling and readability. I do not expect perfection in this but with upper elementary I have learned that I need to add this to most written work to reinforce my expectation that they put forth their best effort in all that they do. In time, it becomes habit. I will be adding a post with examples and more information about how I use these soon on my blog at www.msteacherthing.blogspot.com so check it out.
These are an absolute life saver for me with 30 students and I hope they will be for you as well. If you like them please take a moment to leave positive feedback on here. If you would like something specific for your response logs-feel free to contact me. Just be aware that there is not a lot of room on a label to make changes- but I'm happy to try! Thanks!
