Reading the 5 Sounds of r-Controlled Vowels

Description
I created this packet to make it easy for my students to learn to read r-controlled syllable type words. There are 6 syllable types, and r-controlled is one of the six types. Spelling r-controlled words require visual memory and experience, but when reading, there are a few insights that can help students to better read r-controlled syllable words. The game boards are designed in a systematic way to make it easier for students to learn the 5 sounds - /air/, /ear/, /ar/, /ir/ /or/ - to the 5 spellings of r-controlled words. This way they are better informed as readers, and the guessing begins to disappear.
This packet includes 12 game boards that give students an opportunity to have fun learning the sounds and spellings of r-controlled syllables.
Game Directions:Students are to cover their entire board with games pieces/chips. Each student then takes a turn, roll a die, and whatever number the die lands on is the column from which the student is to remove the game piece and read a word. The first one to remove and read all their words win
The game boards themselves are the answer key to the various sounds and spellings.
