Product Description
One of the great challenges we face as social studies/history teachers in the middle and high school is getting our students to read the text. Often, this is because we leave our students up to their own devices with little direction on what to look for while reading and preparing for the next day’s lesson. The PETS strategy is a simple but effective way to assist students with at-home reading by focusing on four elements: People, Events, Themes/Theses, and Summary. By requiring our students to focus on these four elements on a recurring basis, we are building their metacognitive processes and soon they will be addressing these four areas on their own!
