This is a wonderful way to get students practicing their sight words with reading (rather than just drill and practice). These practice sheets are designed so that words will be taught in time to be tested for my district report cards. I have included several practice sheets to fill in gaps in which no new sight words are taught. All of the first 25 Fry words are practiced in these sheets (as well as CAN, MY, GO, LIKE, and SEE for extra flexibility with sentence building). I sometime use color words, which can be coded with a crayon if you want to use it more like a picture. I also begin using decodable words (in my classroom pacing, that practice sheet appears in about January).
Some of the practice sheets are holiday/season themed: Halloween, Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter, Valentine's Day, Spring, Easter, and Summer.
I have color copies in the classroom for parent volunteers to practice with the students (or for me to use in reading groups) and I send a black & white copy home to be read with homework. I hope you like them!
This activity is included in my Sight Word Pack.
