1. All books used in these units are available through ReadingA-Z.com.
2. The following twelve books were used in these units; À la ferme, À qui appartiennent ses pattes?, Allez-y les animaux, Cette tortue, Chiot Joueur, Je peins en violet, La vie à l'étang, Le pique-nique, Le sandwich, Nous faisons des biscuits, Où est l'eau?, Où?
3. Student activity sheets were developed for each book. The questions involve translating French sentences and fill in the blank.
4. Answer sheets are also provided that include the marking scheme.
5. A Vocabulary Dictionary has been developed that contain French words taken from stories the student has read. The purpose of the dictionary is to build a bank of French and English words. It also teaches the phonetic pronunciation of each word. The page is divided into six columns. The title for Column One is "le Mot Français", Column Two is "La Première Syllabe, Column Three is "La Deuxième Syllabe", Column Four is "La Troisième Syllabe. The Fifth Column indicates the vowel sound you hear and the final column indicates the English translation. For example if you are teaching the word "septembre", Column One indicates the French word septembre. Column Two indicates the first syllable. In this case it would be "sep". Column Three indicates the second syllable "tom". Column Four indicates the third syllable "bru". In this case the child learns to pronounce "septembre" correctly. Column Five indicates the vowel sound you hear. Column Six indicates the English translation - September.
6. A Vowel Dictionary has been included with this unit. There are eleven sheets in this dictionary - one for each of the long and short vowel sounds, plus one for the sound of "oo". The student is then required to write all the words pertaining to the long or short vowel sound as indicated in the Vocabulary Dictionary. As they proceed, a bank of words is built up grouping only the long {a} or short {a} vowel sounds.
