Description

Ready Freddy books are a wonderful resource to use with students who are relatively new to chapter books and who need work on sustaining comprehension over multiple chapters (each book has 8) as well has improving critical reading strategies and skills. There are dozens of Ready Freddy books in the series, and you can use this resource with each and every one! Use it over and over and change it up each time with the extra pages!

I love that it can be used with ANY of the Ready Freddy books…so you can use it with one student, with a group of students, with a number of students all reading different Ready Freddy books—or even with a class read aloud. I used it with a guided reading group--and then used some of the additional pages for a few students to work independently on OTHER books in the series!

The concepts covered are CRITICAL READING SKILLS—from character development to summaries to "proving" their thinking with the text. Get creative—but know that everything you need is right there, ready to copy and use. One of the unusual features is that the student response pages have the minilesson explained right at the top--so both teachers and students know what to be working on! It makes planning so easy--and helps students and families know exactly what learning is taking place.
