This resource is designed to encourage, excite and help prepare your child for school.
School is a big place with big buildings, more children and new rules. However, it doesn’t have to be a fearful place. Use this resource to open positive discussion about school. Talk about your own experiences and if there are any siblings, invite them to share too. Reinforce that school is a safe and fun place to be with teachers who are there not only to teach but to help them through any problems or issues they may have.
The activities are designed to give a feel for school and some of the expectations school has. Strengthen your child’s motor skills with our drawing, writing, cutting, counting, alphabet and colouring-in activities. Help your child visualise themselves in a school setting with our drawing activities. Set up a routine with our chart and pictures.
Discuss what is appropriate for the lunchbox and encourage them to get involved with their own healthy food ideas. We have also provide a few lunch box tips and ideas for parents to keep lunches interesting.
