This activity was designed to offer students a hands-on way to practice rhyming words. These work great for morning tubs, early finishers, small groups, or literacy centers.

There are 25 rhyming word mats and corresponding picture cards. Also included are 6 generic recording sheets. This activity can be used with or without a recording sheet.
Rhyming mats and corresponding picture cards are numbered to help keep you organized.
The mats are divided by into four sets:
•CVC Words
•CVCe Words
•Short Vowels
•Long Vowels
To prepare this activity print, laminate, and cut the activity mats, corresponding rhyming word cards, and “I Can” page. Print the recording sheet, if using.
Students will match the rhyming word picture card to the rhyming mat. To show their work students will write the rhyming matches on their paper
