ReadyGen First Grade : Unit 4 Module A First Grade 2014 edition
Main Text: Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney
Anchor Text: The Family Tree by David McPhail
This packet contains the following on a PDF format and all items have been copied onto a Smartboard version. If you do not have the Notebook software, you can still use the items on the PDF. I transferred the material onto a smartboard document, because I prefer to project onto a large screen and I like to write on the writing sheets to demonstrate for the students. You can print all writing sheets and cards from the PDF, not from the smartboard.
This packet does not contain printable lesson plans.
IF YOU WANT PRINTABLE LESSON PLANS, I found a new TPT store that sells very good ones. They intend to post all the remaining modules. You can find their lessons for this unit in their new TPT store here:
ReadyGen: Lesson Plans for First Grade : Unit 4 A Lessons 1 - 6
Ready Gen: Lesson Plans for First Grade: Unit 4 A Lessons 7 to 13
They also have The Family Tree as a Smartboard version for free.
This packet contains all the vocabulary cards needed for Module A of Unit 4 of Ready Gen First Grade. The cards are printed with colorful graphics and definitions and have the numbers printed on them of the lesson numbers, Teachers Edition pages and the pages where you can find them in the books Miss Rumphius and The Family Tree. There are 54 pages of writing prompt sheets and graphic organizers to choose from. These I adapted from the lessons and made them very appropriate for first grade, with larger print and enough space to write and illustrate. At the end of the packet I included the writing prompts with handwriting lines. You can see samples by downloading the preview.
In addition, for this module, there are 18 pages of graphic organizers and writing sheets to help students organize for Planning A Narrative. This is a big portion of the writing required in this module.
There are also Text Based Conversation Posters (a new feature in Unit 4) and 13 Team Talk posters (which is part of the focused reading section in each lesson) and 2 Essential Questions posters.
I hope you find these materials enjoyable and useful. Thanks so much!
Please let me know if you have any questions. Mary
