Real-life volume problems.
Students solve a variety of volume problems based on real-world objects. Students are not always solving for the volume. Some problems ask students to solve for a different variable such as the radius or the height.
Version 1 - Includes pictures for each problem (students label the picture)
Version 2 - All text (students sketch each problem)
Version 3 - Combination of version 1 and version 2
I use version 3 with my sophomore geometry class after I introduce the various 3D shapes (like prisms) and the different formulas for volume.
Feedback is appreciated.
