This is the way STEM should be done!
Help create scientists by encouraging your students to act like real scientists. In this lesson your students will read a report of the work performed by other students and review their research because that’s what scientists do. After reading the lab report, they will work through some questions to evaluate the scientific report and plan their course of action. Then they will either try to confirm, refute, or further the findings by designing their own experiments, collecting data, and writing their own lab reports. This lesson does not include a cookbook lab with a known outcome. This is real science! Don't worry, all that vocabulary we teach is embedded and highlighted in the lab report so as a teacher you can still help them focus some attention on those state test terms.
Included in the lesson, you will receive:
A well written student lab report with linked citations and highlighted vocab terms
A blank lab report template
A worksheet for students to do between reading the student lab and performing their own
