Product Description
The Real-World Math Projects Bundle includes 5 projects that focus on fractions/decimals/percentages, geometry, statistics and graphing, and number relationships and operations. All projects are hands-on, fun, and engaging. Projects can be done independently, with partners, or in groups. They are perfect to complete during standardized testing, at the end of the year, or as the content is taught. The projects are geared towards real world applications and connections.

The following projects are included:

Discount Advertisements Project:
In this project, students create discount advertisements for three products from their favorite store. Discount advertisements must include product picture, product price, and discount written as a word problem, and work with solutions (solutions are covered). Then, students construct a creative way to display their work. Students participate in a gallery walk to solve each other's discount problems. The Discount Advertisements Project can be used before the unit as a pre-assessment, during the unit as a formative assessment, or after the unit as a post-assessment.

Included are:
- Project Introduction and modified version
- Project Rubric and modified version
- Project Work Organizer and modified version
- Gallery Walk Organizer and modified version

Geometry Scavenger Hunt:
In this project, students use what they have learned in Geometry to conduct a scavenger hunt. Students photograph as many Geometry vocabulary words as they can in the real world (minimum of 10). Students then prepare a display for their pictures. A caption must be typed to describe each photo: vocabulary word, definition, and how the photograph relates to Geometry. The Geometry Scavenger Hunt can be used before the unit as a pre-assessment, during the unit as a formative assessment, or after the unit as a post-assessment.

Included are:
- Project Introduction with a word bank of possible words to photograph and modified version
- Project Rubric and modified version
- Project Organizer and modified version

Shopping Spree Project
In this project, students "spend" $2,500 to design a student lounge. Students use online websites to "purchase" furniture and décor for the student lounge to meet the requirements. Students record their "purchases" on an order form, calculating the total bill and sales tax. Then, students construct a creative way to display their newly designed student lounge and work. The Shopping Spree Project can be used before the unit as a pre-assessment, during the unit as a formative assessment, or after the unit as a post-assessment.

Included are:
- Project Introduction and modified version
- Project Rubric and modified version
- Three Organizers (one blank, one filled in, and a modified version)

Special Number Inquiry Project
Looking for a fun and engaging math project? Students choose a favorite number between 10 and 100, research the number, and create a project to display their knowledge about the number (including personal statement, real world facts, vocabulary, and word problems/solutions).

Contents include:
- Introductions- regular and modified versions
- Project Organizers- regular and modified versions
- Rubrics- regular and modified versions
- Evaluation form

Statistics Investigation Project
In this project, students conduct a statistical investigation. Students come up with two categorical questions and two numerical questions. They collect data by surveying their peers, graph data by hand or on the computer, analyze data by calculating some measures of central tendency and variance, and interpret data by drawing conclusions or inferences. Then, students make a poster, write a report, or come up with another creative way to display their work. The Statistics Investigation Project can be used before the unit as a pre-assessment, during the unit as a formative assessment, or after the unit as a post-assessment.

Included are:
- Project Introduction and modified version
- Project Rubric and modified version
- Project Organizers and modified versions
