This Real World Math course includes STEM, RTI Math, Measurement, Area, Perimeter, Volume, Scale Drawing / Graphing, Oral Presentation, Engineering, Technology, Planning and Preparation (Entrepreneurship), etc. as learning outcomes.

This course looks at various landscaping issues associated with your school and proposes solutions to those problems. Students compete to win the final design and students actually do the work to finish the projects, start to finish.

4. GoogleSketchUp (free) or AutoCAD (we used both)
5. Landscaping Equipment
6. Measuring Tools (rulers, tapes, wheel, etc.)
7. Graphic Materials (pencils, rulers, compass, graph paper, etc.)

This past school year our class was able to redesign and renovate our courtyard for instructional purposes as well as make our front entrance more aesthetically pleasing and usable. We were able to secure over $2,000 in donations to accomplish both projects.
