PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

These 12 multi-step problems are based on “real world” mathematic scenarios. Included are problems, which require students to work with fractions.
Skills included:
Multiplying a whole number by a fraction or using repeat addition
Finding a fraction of a whole
Dividing a whole number by a fraction
Adding fractions with unlike denominators (1/2 and 3/4)

Problems print landscape with 2 problems on a page. They are designed to be cut in half to save on paper. An answer key is included.

In this set of problems, there are problems that support the following CCSS:
• Math Content 4.NF.B.3c Add and subtract mixed numbers with like denominators, e.g., by replacing each mixed number with an equivalent fraction, and/or by using properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction.
• CCSS Math Content 4.NF.B.3d Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole and having like denominators.
• CCSS Math Content 5.NF.A.2 Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole, including cases of unlike denominators, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem. Use benchmark fractions and number sense of fractions to estimate mentally and assess the reasonableness of answers
• CCSS Math Content 5.NF.B.6 Solve real world problems involving multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem.
