Real World Relationship Tables – 20 Word Problems
20 (STAAR 3.5.E) Word Problems using number pairs and tables to represent real world relationships. These are word problems connecting to function tables that use the relationship between multiplication and division. These 20 (newly revised and written) problems have students draw models and relate multiplication and division concretely in order to solve.
(3.5) Algebraic reasoning. The student applies mathematical process standards to analyze and create patterns and relationships. The student is expected to represent real-world relationships using number pairs in a table and verbal descriptions. Readiness Standard
The “Think Through Math Texas Pathway” includes: 1) use the inverse relationship between multiplication and division to solve problems, 2) apply properties of multiplication and the relationship between multiplication and division, and 3) demonstrate an understanding of division.
There is one extra page with 4 blank tables to use in self-generated word problems. 5 pages with 4 word problems on each page and answers included.
