3 page file includes a small-group game that can be played 3 different ways. The first game is for CVC words and I've put two on a page. The other two are one on a page and are intended to use second after the first game is introduced.
To play game 1: Program a die with one letter onset on each side (t,r,f,b,p,h) and on the other die with the following rimes (at, ig, ot, ug, un, et)
Students roll die, blend sounds, determine if the word is real or nonsense (I have them defend their answer by using it in a sentence or describing meaning), then they write the word, and circle "thumbs up/down" in last column.
Program dice for the other two games in similar fashion.
*TIP: When programming the dice, I write all onsets in red, and rimes in blue. I teach students to sound out each word by starting with the red die.
