We language teachers know that it takes LOTS of practice and repetition to acquire and master grammatical structures. This activity is perfect for practicing the superlative. It aligns with, but is not limited to, Realidades 1 Tema 6A. I use this immediately after introducing the topic; there is tons of repetition of the superlative structure. By the end, students get into the rhythm of the superlative in Spanish. Students fill in the name of their partner and interview them about their opinions and preferences. Although not stated in all of the questions, students are encouraged to give a comment and explain their answer. I oftentimes don't have students write the answer out, although on other occasions I may assign it for an individual homework speaking assignment. Students can record their answers and send it via a voice recording from their smartphone or from a website like Vocaroo. I have even used this as preparation for the oral portion of chapter assessment. I find that students love talking about themselves and their tastes. No answer key is provided as answers are open-ended.
Enjoy and Gracias!
