This activity aligns with, but is not limted to Realidades 1 Tema 8A. It is a communicative activity where students ask questions in the tú form of the preterite, partners respond in the yo form, and students report back to the class at the end with the é/ella/Ud. form of the verb. If the answer is affirmative, the student records his/her name on the sheet.
I often follow up with this activity by asking students to mention what s/he did as well, so students can practice the "nosotros" form of the preterite. You can also take it one step further and ask students if they had multiple names for the the same answer. Therefore, they can state what others did in the "ellos/ellas" form.
I have used with for a warm-up as well as a closing activity. It can even be a precursor for an individual presentation!
Make sure to check out my other Realidades 1 materials.
