On a PowerPoint slide, students are given an English paragraph (approximately 10 sentences) to translate. The paragraph is chock full of 4B vocab and grammar, and also incorporates plenty of old Realidades 1 vocab that they've learned up to this point. The sentences are very simple, do-able sentences (for example, the story begins, "On Saturday, I am going to go shopping with my friends. I like to go shopping because it’s fun."
After giving the students 15 minutes or so to translate the paragraph, either on their own or with a partner, you can start clicking to reveal the correctly translated Spanish sentences, one-by-one.
It is great to pause after each sentence and have a discussion with the class about the grammar contained therein, answering any questions they may have. A wonderful opportunity to practice their writing!
