This worksheet and speaking activity can be used for any Spanish travel unit, as it contains several activities outside of Realidades 1 8A.
The worksheet has two parts. In the first part, students are given a subject pronoun and then a place of interest (beach, museum...national park...) and then the students fill in with what the person(s) did conjugating the verb/activity in the preterite. There are filler words such as first, then, finally, later... etc. I have used this as a warm-up, homework or as an in-class activity. I call on students to read and share their answers. It also allows them to practice transition words, and will help them narrate their own experiences later on in the chapter.
In the second part, students practice verbs such as PENSAR, IR + A, VIAJAR A, VISITAR (A) and connect the columns...people with a certain place and then a logical activity. It could serve as a writing prompt for homework.
A word bank of activities is provided and students are encouraged to add. I have also differentiated the worksheet and removed the word bank to allow for students to generate the activities based on current knowledge. You could also simplify it further by putting the activities in groups of three and listing them with each place of interest.
**Please note that places of interest such as Machu Picchu, La Sagrada Familia, the Prado and Chapultepec Park are mentioned so you may need to review these items prior to proceeding. **
