This activity aligns with, but is not limited to, Realidades 1 Tema 6A and Realidades 2 Tema 1B. Students love this activity because they get to share their own opinion about their favorite/least favorite movie.
In this activity, students are Movie Critics. They get to pick their favorite movie and write a critique. Here, it is an oral presentation that students record and upload. However, you could easily adapt this to a live oral presentation in class, or even to a written project if you prefer.
Students must use the comparative and superlative structure, and also use the verb PODER. (this aligns to Realidades 1 Tema 6A)
Included are detailed directions, a brainstorming sheet, supplemental vocabulary lists and a grading rubric which may be modified to meet your needs and those of your students.
This can easily take a week if you meet 4-5 days. I usually introduce the project and have students complete the brainstorming sheet for homework. I try to control the environment (ie, they have a lot of time to work on it in class) so they don't go home and use an online translator. I offer feedback using my correction grid (in my store!) On the last day when students present, they bring in popcorn and we "go to the movies"! Have fun with this!
Thank you for checking it out, and make sure to take a look at my other Realidades 1 material. Realidades 2 is forthcoming!
