Use these activities throughout the Para empezar unit or as a review for any level.
What’s included in this bundle:
:This is a great assessment review! The top half of each page has a response and the bottom half has a question or statement. Students read the question/statement on a sheet and then walk/look around the room trying to find the response. Once they have found the response, they read the question on the bottom of that paper and that will lead them to the next sheet. If the students follow the sheets in the correct order, after they have made it to all 13 sheets the answer to their final question/statement will lead them back to the paper they started at. I allow students to either work by themselves or in pairs to complete this activity.
Practice the Spanish alphabet by spelling the names of 20 animals to your students. All animals are labeled in Spanish. The use of animals provides a fun activity for your students to practice the alphabet and try to figure out which animal is next! This product includes a powerpoint with 20 animals spelled in Spanish. Either make a copy of the google presentation for yourself or use the included Microsoft powerpoint.
This google presentation will help your students practice writing dates in Spanish. The first 6 slides practice writing the dates of holidays, then students are asked to write their birthday and finally they will practice writing dates from the numeric shorthand used in Spanish-speaking countries.I prefer to have students write their answers on whiteboards so I can check them more easily before showing them the answers.
This activity will get your students up and moving all while practicing Spanish numbers! Separate your class into 2 or 3 teams depending on your class size. Each team gets a set of numbers 0-9. Each student holds at least 1 number card, but no more than 2. Say a number from 0-99, the teams race to put the correct numbers together. For example is you say “54” to students holding the 5 and 4 cards need to put their cards together to create “54”. The first team that holds the number up correctly receives a point.
You students can practice weather and seasons vocabulary with this chutes and ladders game. I use this game with my Spanish 1 students, but it could be used at any level as a review.
In this product you will find 3 weather readings and their answer keys. These 3 readings are structured after the weather report from Realidades 1, Chapter: Para Empezar. You can use them as practice for your classes or as a retake. I use these readings as language practice as well as a cultural tool, as you and your students can discuss the differences between the weather in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
This product includes 3 maps students can use to improve their Spanish literacy skills and practice their weather vocabulary. One map is of Wisconsin and the other two are of Bolivia. You can print students their own copies of the maps or project them and have students write the answers on scratch paper.
: Use this partner activity sheet as an oral activity to practice sentence structure with your students. I use these activities over multiple days with my students so they can repeat the sentence structures over and over. They will practice weather, seasons and dates in Spanish.
: This is a great ready to use activity your students can use to practice telling time in Spanish. I use this activity multiple days with my students and then go over a different row each day to check their answers. It is a great way to learn telling time for novice learners or as a review for more advanced learners.
