Product Description
Help your students show off how much they have learned with this writing project! This pack includes everything to set them up for success. My students have enjoyed this project, and I heard positive comments from them during the process, such as "I feel so fluent now!"

This project fits well at the end of the Realidades 1, 1B unit, and it lasts three to four days (the last day is optional). Students will need access to technology where they can type on the second and third day.

Students write some basic information from the Para Empezar chapter (how old they are, when their birthday is, etc.), describe their personality, describe some likes/dislikes, and describe two people in their family. Their packet includes how to say some basic family members (hermana, etc.) in Spanish.

Day 1: Students work on an included warm-up and Persona A/Persona B activity to practice describing people. Then, they receive a packet, where the first two pages guide them through writing their rough draft. Students write the rest of the hour. An optional puzzle is included for early finishers.

Day 2: Students peer-edit a classmate's rough draft, using a checklist in their packet. You then go over the third page in the packet, which explains how to make some fun visuals (a Wordle and Tagxedo) and how to type accent marks. Then, they begin typing!

Day 3: Students finish their essays and print them. Early finishers work on online practice activities at the Realidades Program Page, using an included hand-out as a guide.

Day 4: Optional. Students set out their essays around the room. They receive a "caminar y escribir" sheet, where they walk around the room and fill out information about some of their classmates. They do one more writing activity, where they write a quick paragraph describing someone else.

This zip file includes editable, Microsoft Word documents, including:
- detailed 4-day lesson plan
- packet for students with everything they need, plus a rubric
- Persona A/Persona B activity
- vocabulary puzzle and online activities for early finishers
- "caminar y escribir" activity for the last day.
