I created this assignment because my students were having trouble thinking of the vocabulary as a part of a living language. They wanted me to only test their vocabulary skills by giving them single word translation quizzes. Of course, my problem with their idea is that language doesn't work that way. So, our compromise was that I would give them some practice thinking about the vocabulary and and the context that would surround it.
I wrote this assignment with the chapter quizzes and test in mind, using categories that correspond to the vocabulary (both current and from previous chapters) on the assessments.
The goal of the assignment is to get the students to think of the vocabulary in the context of actual use.
For example, in another chapter, one of the categories is "después de ducharse", and the students should be able to come up with words like "secarse" "toalla" "secador", etc. to include in this category.
The answers will vary on this assignment, so no key is included. But emphasize to your students that this will prepare them for the assessments in the chapter, so it's best to be as comprehensive as possible.
