*Note: I do not take credit for the name "Onesie-Twosie." My cooperating teacher came up with the name and I have just run with the idea!

Onesie-Twosies are a great way for students to practice speaking Spanish with partners while also making sure they use correct grammar and vocabulary. This particular Onesie-Twosie gives them practice conjugating regular verbs in the present tense and using interrogatives and frequency vocabulary.

Put students in pairs and make sure one partner gets “A” and the other gets “B.” Partner A will go first. They will see an English sentence next to #1. They are to translate the sentence aloud to their partner in Spanish. Partner B will see the answer next to #1 and will listen to make sure their partner gets it correct. If they need to give them any corrections, they can do so. Then Partner B will go to #2 and translate to Spanish. Partner A will check the answer to #2 and give corrections if necessary. They go back and forth, back and forth, hence the name Onesie-Twosie.

Variations:
-You could require students to write out the translations rather than say them aloud.
-You could make it a game where students keep track of the number of sentences that they get right.
-You could time students to see how far they get.
-If students finish early you can have them switch papers and go again.
-The possibilities are endless!
