This powerpoint will work well for Spanish levels 2 and 3 and uses vocab and grammar primarily from Realidades 3 Capitulo 1 in addition to cummulative vocab. It incorporates primarily the irregular verbs oír, destruír, leer, and creer in the preterite. It uses vocab such as relámpagos, truenos, linterna, dar un paseo, bosque, brújula, perder el equilibrio, and others. It involves the teacher narrating a scary story in the preterite, in which Spongebob finds himself in a pretty scary situation and incorporates moving animations, scary sound effects throughout the slides in the story (such as scary laughing, witches, monsters, wind, screaming, etc.), and new vocabulary that pops up throughout the slides. The powerpoint also teaches students fun new vocab related to halloween such as brujas, fantasmas, momias, etc. It also has checks for understanding at the end of the story, and a short activity to get students writing their own scary stories.
Tell this story with the lights off and use speakers so the students can hear all the cool sound effects throughout the powerpoint!
The ending is great and the students will really laugh. All the instructions and teacher script are included in the notes section of the powerpoint. This powerpoint uses full Spanish in the pop-ups. No English needs to be used and it involves the communicative approach to foreign language instruction.
50 slides with sound effects, pop ups, and animations are included.
If you use the Realidades books, this powerpoint goes well with vocab and grammar from Realidades 2 Chapter 5A and Realidades 3 Chapter 1.
