This puzzle uses preterite irregulars that are reviewed in Chapter 1 & A ver section prior to Chapter 1.
My students love to play this game as a race, I usually have the students work in pairs to complete the puzzle correctly before any of the other groups. I always let the top 3 groups write their names on the board in addition to any prize, they love bragging rights! We usually play this as a review right before a vocabulary quiz or a chapter test.
The goal is to match each word with its translation to put the individual squares together to form one large 4x4 square. When the numbers are all the same direction, you can't turn the square but should have all sides matching. Inside words match each other and the edges have matching words (top left to top middle, top middle to top right, etc.)
