This is a simple and fun way for students to review key vocabulary terms at the end of the Realidades 3B chapter for Spanish 2. I have used these review puzzles in multiple ways:
1. Whole-class race: Give a puzzle sheet to each student, put on some music, and give them time to each cut out their own puzzle and stack the pieces in a pile. At the count of three, everyone starts putting their puzzle together. The first five students to complete theirs gets a prize! Then, have the students put a paper clip around their puzzle and turn it in, so the rest of your classes don't have to cut any puzzles up.
2. Partner race: Same as above, but each pair of students gets one puzzle to cut up and put together.
3. Working alone: Let each student casually work on their puzzle, without any competition. Have a new activity or homework ready for the early finishers to work on.
4. Station Activity: These puzzles work great as a station activity, and students can check their work with an answer key or show you their completed puzzle before they begin the next station.
Hint: Keep at least one un-cut puzzle sheet handy to use as an answer key.
