This is a comprehensive review of the beginning of a Spanish level 1 curriculum. I use it as an Extension Project. Here is how I frame it for the students:
This is an Extension Project for the 1st marking period, it should be worked on during class, when you finish early or are waiting to move to the next task. Fully completed Extension Projects will increase your marking period grade by ½ a letter grade (B to B+). The Extension Project MUST be here in the classroom on the last day of the marking period to receive your credit.
It could also be used for a level 2 or 3 class at the beginning of the school year to review the previous year's material. This is a multi-step, multiple day assignment, which really helps students to understand that there is a process to completing assignments.
The topics covered in this mosaic design are:
time, days of the week, months of the year, sports & pastimes activities, school vocab, seasons & weather, puedo & necesito statements, and adjectives.
There is a lot of repetition in the words and phrases used, so the students become very familiar with how the words look.
The hidden phrase is:
Bienvenido a la clase de Espanol.
