I wrote this short story "Carta al consejo estudiantil" using the vocabulary and grammar from chapter 2A in the Realidades 2 textbook. The premise is that a student is looking for a date to Homecoming but keeps getting the wrong kind of date.
Students love the humor in the story and can relate easily to the topic of homecoming.
It is very beneficial for the students to see the grammar in context.
Possible follow up activities;
1. students write a "missing page" to the story modeling the same style/format
2. students write a "sequel" to the book detailing how the girl got ready for the dance.
