You print and staple, students read and respond-that's the meaning of "project" here! Get students analyzing the RF genre because realistic doesn't mean true!
Students/teachers choose ANY realistic fiction book/short story. Students read independently, as a class, or as a group. Students will then finish sentence starters regarding point of view and author's purpose, make check-mark choices relating to the text structure/organization of their book, and note items related to the story structure in order to reflect on the plot. Finally, they will record the realistic story elements they found. Room for creativity is built in. Students can fill in the response pages while reading or after reading, creating an end of book project.
Designed for multiple uses, multi-use.
Flexible use options:
-use pages separately or collectively
-use with whole class genre studies/book clubs/lit.circles/novel studies
-use for book talks or presentations or book reports
-use as an independent reading project
-use during independent reading/SSR/DEAR
-use to supplement ANY reading program
-use to supplement short stories in teacher-purchased books or online resources
It's very flexible!
