*Student Notes on each literary technique/element – notes are included at the top of each worksheet. This is a great reference tool to assist the students while they work!
*Reproducible worksheet for each literary technique/element with a student application activity.
*Rubric for assessing students understanding of the literary elements of Historical Fiction.
If you use the Reader’s Workshop model of teaching literature, it is preferred to conduct a Realistic Fiction read-aloud simultaneously to assist in teaching the elements of Realistic Fiction. In this manner, you will have examples to share and discuss with the students during a mini-lesson. Students are then able to find these literary elements independently using their own selected novel.
