Are you looking for a way to get your students to research rebranding attempts made by different companies? This activity was designed to be part of a branding unit in any marketing or business class. For this activity, students work in partners and pick a company from the included list and research the company's rebranding strategy to create a short presentation detailing whether the company's rebranding efforts were a success or failure. The included rubric details specific information that the students must find to include in their presentation. Some of the companies students can research include Instagram, Uber, New Coke, Taco Bell, etc to help pique student interest! Some of the products/companies included on the list had great success rebranding, while others were epic failures adding variety to the research and presentations for students.
My class periods are 90 minutes, and this activity takes a total of about 2 hours to complete including presentation time.
