These additional AMERICAN MANUAL ALPHABET FINGERSPELLING ACTIVITIES are excellent resource to use at any level of learning to improve fingerspelling and develop receptive skills. Great for distance learning or in-person, this packet focuses on image categories to help your ASL student identity fingerspelled words with handshape recognition.

These activities engage a “no voice” environment and increases manual alphabet understanding. This is appropriate for all levels of ASL learners.

PowerPoint pdfs for each category are divided into two sets: one set includes images with word labels students can practice fingerspelling. Second set with same images but without words attached, the teacher provides the words via fingerspelling - based on the provided master word list.

ASL teacher can work on receptive skills with students in groups or individually. Students can also spell words using the master list to challenge each other.
