Winter recess is so much fun! Building snowmen, sliding down hills, making snow angels - the possibilities are endless! But if you’re familiar with winter recess then you also know just how long it takes younger students to get ready to go outside! Snow pants, boots, hats, gloves, scarves, zipping zippers, buttoning buttons, whew! And that doesn’t even begin to showcase the struggles students have with what order to put everything on in! By the time everyone is finally dressed for the fun, it’s time to go back inside!
These visual directions help answer the question “what do I put on next?” Simply cut out, laminate (if you wish) and hang near the student’s getting ready area. You get to decide the order! When they ask what to put on next, remind them to look at the visual cues! Eventually, they will become so accustomed to looking for the clues, that they won’t need your reminders!
The faster we get ready, the more time we can PLAY!
