Why Recess Talk? Do you find that you spend a lot of time helping your students work out social issues that arose or continued on the playground? I sure do! Here is what I do about it!
Every day after recess I ask my first graders to give me a thumbs up or down to inform me about their recess time. That is the springboard for giving them assistance and teaching them how to resolve social conflicts and how to get the help they need from teachers and other adults.
This year I am going about it a little more anonymously with this resource! This is part one of my plan – the recordkeeping and tracking forms and materials.
Part two will involve specific activities that address common social conflicts!
Check back for Part two!
I would love to hear your feedback and ideas for part two!
