Recipe poems are a fun way to celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day! They are also a great way for students to show what they've learned at the end of a unit. Students can write recipe poems for anything: a volcano, multiplication, Van Gogh...the list is endless!
This product will help even the weakest writer create a recipe poem. Many students struggle because they are unfamiliar with how a recipe is written. For these students, I've created word bank cards. There are cards for adjectives for mom, measurements in the kitchen and cooking verbs. Students can select words to help them craft their poems. For students who need less support, I've created a brainstorming organizer for adjectives, measurements and cooking verbs. There are three versions of the organizer, one for Mother's Day, one for Father's Day and a blank organizer.
I've also included 18 different publishing pages to meet the needs of your students. For primary students, there are pages with primary lines. For lower grades, there are wide ruled pages. For upper grades, there are "college" ruled pages. Please download the free preview to see the varieties of publishing pages.
It’s my hope that this package will provide you with plenty of options for your classroom, but I’ve priced the package realizing that you probably won’t be able to use everything included.
