This assignment is a great way to teach your students about the different parts of a recipe. The assignment has the students search for an appetizer, main course and dessert. Students use food magazines and pick out their three favorite recipes. Students then analyze the data in their recipes. They also determine things such as the yield, proper measuring equipment required and cooking/baking terminology. This is a fun, hands on activity to help students learn about the language of cooking as well as proper tools for the trade.
